The legal part
Why we ask for your document, and what we do with it.
Why do you need my ID?
Spanish Royal Decree 933/2021 requires it. Every accommodation in Spain must register its guests and report them to the authorities. This is not a quirk of ours: a hotel would ask you for exactly the same.
What happens to my data?
It is encrypted at rest with AES-256 and lives on our own server. It never passes through third-party services and is used for nothing but the mandatory report.
How long do you keep it?
Only for the period the law sets. After that it is deleted automatically, and the deletion is logged.
